Hot Tub Gazebo - Types to Choose From

AUTHOR: Stewart Flanders

Hot Tub Gazebo

A hot tub gazebo is ideal if you want to place your hot tub in the backyard. With a tub gazebo, you not only get to enjoy a spa right in your own home, but you also get protection from the elements. Even if you have your hot tub indoors, a gazebo can still serve as a decor for your hot tub, enhancing your enjoyment while relaxing.

There are many types of hot tub gazebos that you can choose from. Choose the one that serves your purpose best and that makes for a better investment than the rest. There are also kits that enable you to put up the hot tub gazebo on your own.

Choosing a Location for your Hot Tub Gazebo

A hot tub gazebo needs to be installed somewhere sturdy. Installing it on an existing deck can be a bit dangerous, as it may give in with the weight of the gazebo. It usually weighs around 5000 pounds by itself.

If you really want to install your gazebo on your deck, then you should design and construct your deck in a way that it can support it. Better yet, get a free-standing gazebo. This means building or installing your hot tub gazebo into your home's foundation. This would include the construction of the floor for your gazebo.

Hot Tub Gazebo Enclosures

There are many forms of enclosures for your hot tub gazebo. Here is a rundown on some of them and the pros and cons of each

OPEN TOP GAZEBO
Pros:
This allows you to get some tan while soaking in your hot tub.
Cons:
You don't get protected well from the rain. A variation of this is a two- or three-sided gazebo. This can offer you some protection while still allowing you to enjoy the outdoors.

CLOSED TUB GAZEBO
Pros:
This provides more security. Closed hot tub gazebos can be locked.
You can store things such as chemicals and cleaning materials in a closed gazebo so they can easily be accessed.
This offers sufficient protection from the wind and rain.
Cons:
It can cause a rise in humidity and bring about more odor to emanate from the chemicals used.

Hot tub gazebos can also be made of different types of materials. Wood is most commonly used. Some of the other materials used include polycarbonate, steel and aluminum. Wood is often preferred for its aesthetics and functionality, but other types of materials can have features like heat retention. Some even allow for retractable roofs, so that you can have some sunlight in whenever you choose.
